A Brief Introduction to Zaozhuang Vocational College
Zaozhuang Vocational College is a full-time and public-maintained regular institution of higher education, with ratification of People ’s Government of Shandong Province, put on record in Ministry of Education, invested by Zaozhuang Municipal people ’s Government and administrated by both provincial and municipal governments. In May. 2013, college successfully passed the “V ocational colleges Evaluation of Talents Cultivation” with high quality.
Our college is located at Qilianshan Middle Rd. Xincheng District, Zaozhuang, adjacent to Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and Beijing- Taibei Expressway, covers an area of over 800 mu, about 170000 square meters’ floor area. We have 124 labs( included training rooms or bases), teaching instruments and equipments costing over 47 million yuan, almost 400 thousand volumes of paper books and 1000Gb e-books in library, more than 7500 students enrollment, 425 employed faculties, including 179 senior professionals and technical personnels, such as professors, assistant professors and researchers. Among the whole faculty, “ double professional teachers” occupy over 70%, many teachers have received the following honors: “National May. 1 Labor Medal ”, “Fu Min Xing Lu Labor Medal”, “ Ten Labor Star of Shandong Province”, “Chief Technician of Shandong Province ”, “ Outstanding Young Scientific Talents of Shandong Province ”. “ Technical Skill master of
Shandong Province”, etc. We have set up 29 vocational majors, some of them are as follows: Mechanical-electrical Integration Technology, Automobile Inspection and Maintenance Technology, Applied Chemical Industry Technology, Tourism Management, Oral Medicine, Nursing, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Animation Design and Production, etc. Among them, “Tourism Management” and “Mechanical- electrical Integration Technology” are listed as the two majors supported especially by central finance. The three majors “Numerical Control Technology ” , “Tourism Management ”and “Oral Medicine ” are awarded the characteristic majors by provincial department of education. The two majors “Mechanical Equipment and Maintenance ” and “Numerical Control Technology ” are awarded the “Famous and Important Majors” by the provincial department of personnel and social security.
The college takes serving the regional economic development as an objective, adheres to the teaching ideas that “ Moral and Ability Develop Simultaneously; Learning and doing merge into an Organic Whole; Win-win Cooperation; and Develop Uniquely”. Not only do we actively build the “work-study combination mode ” which is characterized by “multi-stage and multi-cycle” in cultivating talents, but also the teaching mode that curriculum design-situated; theory and practice integrated; teaching process programmed and the evaluation methods ’ dynamical
administration. On the other hand, we pay attention to strengthen the students ’ vocational abilities, promote their overall qualities, which aims to cultivate high-quality and high-skilled talents for regional economy and social development who are able to endure hardship, be in charge of something and start a business. In order to broaden the education channels and promote students ’ employment ability, college plans to co-operate with the government, all professions and trades, enterprises, this cooperation will be all-dimensional, deep-seated and close. Besides it, we intend to build productive training bases, off-campus training bases, carry out the cultivation characterized by “ two subjects, three levels”, thereby strengthen social service functions. Our college has successfully hold “The First Chinese Welder TV Competition” and “ The Third National Worker V ocational Skills Contest (Final of Group Numerical Control Lathe Worker) ”, further more, our college has been awarded “ The National Worker V ocational Skills Training Base ”, “ State-level Migrant Worker Training and Demonstration Base ” “ National Lithium-ion Electric Bicycle Training Center ”, “ Studio of CCTV ’s Programme Nu mber One Scholar 360”, “ Shandong Province High-skilled Talents Training Base ”. Our students ’ employment rate always stays around more than 96%.

It lays emphasis on campus culture construction, attempts to elevate environment educational function and build up college’s good image as well.
